Yonathan Litwok, MD
Director, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
Dr. Litwok is a board-certified critical care cardiologist and serves as Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). His clinical experience and training background allow him to care for patients who are critically ill with heart disease, including heart attacks, congestive heart failure, abnormal heart rhythms, those recovering from open heart surgery, and more. Beyond the medical interventions he performs, Dr. Litwok strives to keep the patient and their family members informed of the care they are receiving. Dr. Litwok received his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at Northwell Health, as well as a fellowship in critical care medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Winston Wong, MD
Dr. Wong is a board-certified cardiac critical care physician. Some of the specific conditions he treats are cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, vascular complications, and patients recovering from cardiac surgery. He is trained in most intensive care unit (ICU) procedures, including central lines and bedside procedures, and his cardiology background complements this skillset with bedside echocardiogram interpretation, emergency transvenous pacing, and more. Dr. Wong received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Northwell Health in New York, as well as a fellowship in critical care at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Ashish Rai, MD
Dr. Rai is a board-certified pulmonary and critical care medicine physician. He is experienced in advanced pulmonary and critical care procedures, such as mechanical ventilation, transvenous pacing, pulmonary artery catheter placement, bronchoscopy, and bedside echocardiography, which are integral to optimizing patient outcomes in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. A key aspect of Dr. Rai’s work includes collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and nursing staff to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. Dr Rai also provides care to patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension at Valley’s Center for Comprehensive Heart Failure Care. As a pulmonary hypertension specialist, Dr Rai provides multidisciplinary care to patients with advanced lung disease and pulmonary arterial hypertension. Dr. Rai received his medical degree from Dr. D.Y. Patil School of Medicine in India. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Mass General Brigham-Salem Hospital in Massachusetts, and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at NYU Long Island Hospital.
Brian Sumner, MD
Dr. Sumner is an emergency medicine and critical care medicine physician. He is experienced in advanced critical care procedures, such as mechanical ventilation, transvenous pacing, pulmonary artery catheter placement, and bedside echocardiography, which are integral to optimizing patient outcomes in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. A key aspect of Dr. Sumner’s work includes collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and nursing staff to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. Dr. Sumner received his medical degree from the George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington DC. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Mount Sinai Morningside–West and a fellowship in critical care medicine at the Mount Sinai Health System.
