High School Volunteer Update
We are now accepting high school volunteer applications for Summer 2025. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old and an active high school student. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 4, 2025. Please apply here.
High School volunteers are a vital part of our volunteer team and some of our most enthusiastic members. They serve in a variety of patient care and administrative areas, perform clerical tasks, fulfill essential department project requests, transport patients and assist at various community events.
Volunteer Requirements
In addition to meeting the general requirements of all volunteers at Valley, high school volunteers must:
- Be at least 16 years of age
Note: All Valley Health System volunteers must have COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations.
High School Volunteer Assignments
Assignments are based on individual interests, skills, and the needs of Valley Health System. Morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend positions are available.
Please be advised that we do not offer shadowing opportunities to high school-age volunteers. You must be a rising third- or fourth-year college student focused on a medical career to be eligible to shadow.
Career Frontiers High School Internship Program for Senior Students (2025-2026)
Application Deadline: Friday, April 18, 2025. Decisions will be sent by Friday, May 9, 2025.
The Career Frontiers High School Internship is Valley Volunteer Resources' service-based learning experience. This program serves high school seniors pursuing their “Work-based Learning” internship for career readiness from any high school that supports this program.
Students complete this internship during the school day or outside of school hours and work alongside the mentor/department in which they are assigned. Students are matched with an experience based on interest and availability. The program starts in the Fall and continues throughout the Spring.
Rising high school seniors on track for graduation and interested in healthcare careers are encouraged to apply! Review and complete the Career Frontier HS Internship Application with your school advisor to ensure you have selected the appropriate answers for your individual experience.
