Better Breathers Club

Valley offers the Better Breathers Club support group to all members of the community who have been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or other similar disease processes.

This support group offers a safe space where patients can talk openly about their feelings related to their condition. The group is designed to offer support, reduce stress and anxiety, decrease isolation, increase coping mechanisms, and provide education about treatment options.

Family members and friends of group participants are invited to quarterly meetings and can expect to gain insight into their loved one's journey with COPD, as well as learn effective ways to help themselves and their loved one cope with the condition.

Better Breathers Club meetings are held Mondays at 12 p.m. virtually. Call 201-447-8673 or email [email protected] for upcoming meeting dates.

Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group

Valley offers a pulmonary fibrosis support group where patients affected by pulmonary fibrosis (PF) can come together to learn about the disease and available treatments, obtain tools to make better decisions regarding their care, express thoughts and feelings, and mutually support each other in living with PF, with support from the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation and Valley Health System.

The target audience includes people with a variety of fibrotic lung diseases, such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), connective tissue disease-related ILD (CTD-ILD), or hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP). Patients, family members, caregivers, friends, and anyone affected by PF will be welcome to join the support group.

This group meets quarterly with both virtual and in-person options available. To register and see upcoming events, please click here. For more information or questions, please email Emma Goebel, APN, at [email protected]
