Lately, multiple companies have developed intermittent ECG monitoring devices that work in conjunction with a smartphone and can record up to 30 seconds of data from one or more ECG leads.
These devices are not covered by insurance companies and need to be purchased.
They usually have 2 electrodes where you apply your fingers and link to the phones using Bluetooth technology. The recordings are made using an app, which usually has software to detect atrial fibrillation.
