Foot and ankle pain are common, as most of us walk every day. Problems in the feet and ankles can result from sports injuries, sprains, arthritis, diabetes, underlying health conditions, aging, improperly fitting shoes, congenital deformities, and other reasons. The good news, though, is that many solutions exist to treat foot and ankle pain.

The Valley Approach to Foot and Ankle Care

At Valley Medical Group - Podiatry, our double-board-certified foot and ankle surgeons specialize in issues of the bones, tendons, ligaments, muscles, blood vessels, and nerves of patients’ feet and ankles. Our team uses the latest-generation technology, non-invasive techniques, and minimally invasive procedures.

Our surgeons are experts in their field, having completed surgical residencies after podiatric medical school. They also conduct research, contribute to peer-reviewed medical journals, and participate in community outreach, education, and medical missions.

Patients benefit from Valley’s team approach to care, which includes the expertise of nurses, physical therapists, wound care specialists, and other Valley physicians, who may be consulted if medical conditions exist that affect the health of patients’ feet and ankles.

Surgery may be required for complex fracture repairs, bunions, hammertoes, tendon or ligament repairs, and pediatric gait issues. Surgical procedures may be performed at Valley’s Robert and Audrey Luckow Pavilion in Paramus.

Our foot and ankle surgeons also provide the following specialized treatments:

  • Minimally invasive surgery, allowing for faster recovery and reduced discomfort
  • Platelet-rich plasma injections, which use a patient’s own blood cells to reduce inflammation and support healing in foot and ankle trauma, joint injuries, tendinitis, Achilles tendon tears, plantar fasciitis, and other conditions
  • Reconstructive surgery for foot and ankle trauma or congenital deformities
  • Custom-made orthotics for footwear
  • Laser treatment for nail fungus
