The address for The Valley Hospital Emergency Department is 4 Valley Health Plaza, Paramus. If you are using a ride-sharing app, please ask your driver to take you to this address. Some ride-sharing apps have not yet updated their systems and are showing the former address. Valley is working to resolve the issue with these ride-sharing companies.
Valley’s Advanced GI Surgical Fellowship Program is a one-year program (August 1 – July 31) providing advanced training to surgeons in both open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) GI/abdominal surgery, robotic surgery and interventional endoscopy. The Fellow will participate in the operating room for approximately four days each week.
Specialized Training for Complex Cases
With Valley’s extensive caseloads of complex GI and hepatobiliary cases, Fellows receive significant experience with pancreas/stomach/biliary tree and complex pelvic surgery using both open and robotic techniques. In addition, with the Barrett’s esophagus program, Fellows learn interventional endoscopy (radiofrequency ablation, endoscopic mucosal resection, endoscopic ultrasound). More common techniques such as anti-reflux surgery, hiatal hernia repair, cholecystectomy, inguinal hernia repair and most significantly, bariatrics, are also included.
Research
The Fellow will be responsible for one scholarly manuscript during the year (research study or other, to be submitted for publication).
Educational Activities
- Monthly educational conference during the Department of Surgery meeting
- Fellow will attend one national meeting (to be funded by industry)
- Journal club: Twice yearly
